2010 Delaware All-County Festival Concert
Saturday, March 27
Delaware Academy, Delhi, NY
3:00 PM
Admission Price: Adults - $4.00
Students - $2.00

Performing Organizations:
Orchestra
Junior High Chorus
Elementary Band
Jazz Choir
Senior High Band


Rehearsal times:
Friday - March 26 - Arrival time: 3:15-3:45 p.m., Rehearsal time: 4:00-8:30 p.m.
Saturday - March 27 - Arrival time: 9:30-9:45 a.m., Rehearsals begin at 10:00 a.m.
Students must attend all rehearsals in order to perform at the concert.
Breaks will be arranged by the conductors and chair people of the performing groups. Students will be asked to remain in the general area in which their group is rehearsing during breaks.
Students should store their belongings at their rehearsal sites.
Students should not bring things with them that are valuable, for example: expensive sneakers,
Walkman or Discman, iPods, etc...

NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE LOCKER ROOM!

Chaperones:

Music directors from each participating school will be expected to act as chaperones throughout the festival.
Chaperones will especially be needed on Saturday afternoon to supervise the groups who are waiting to perform and the groups who have completed their performance.

Nurse:
A nurse will be available for the entire duration of the festival.

Concert Dress:
Senior High Chorus/Band/Orchestra: Black pants or long black skirt; white shirt or blouse; long dark tie (guys).
Elementary Chorus/Band: Boys - dress pants, dress shirt, nice shoes. Girls - nice dress, no mini-skirts, no high heels.
Junior High Chorus/Band: Boys - dress pants, dress shirt, long dark tie. Girls - dressy dress, no mini-skirts, no high heels.
Jazz Choir/Band - black pants, solid colored (bright) long sleeved shirt.

Lost/Unreturned Music:
Each school is responsible for replacing any lost or unreturned music.

Chairperson Information:
a) Each group's performance should be limited to approximately 15 minutes.
b) All schools should be represented in each group if students auditioned or were recommended for that particular group.

 

  Rules and Regulations:
1.    Music directors will be responsible for the conduct of their own students.
2.    Students must remain on the school grounds at all times.
3.    No food or beverages outside the cafeteria.
4.    Students are responsible to bring their own percussion, brass, woodwind, and string accessories (drum sticks, mallets, crash cymbals, extra reeds, valve oil, mouthpieces, bows, rosin, neck straps, etc.)
5.    Students not participating in the festival or any other school activity at Walton Central School will not be allowed in the building until concert time.
6.    Students will be expected to be on their best behavior throughout the festival. Failure to do so will result in their immediate dismissal from the festival.
7.    Percussionists must bring their own sticks and mallets.
8.    Students will not be allowed in the hallways after their performances. Students should return to their designated sites to wait for the end of the concert.
9.    Jazz Choir, Junior Chorus and Senior Chorus members should bring black folders.
10.   Students need to be courteous of other peoples' belongings, equipment and school property.
 

 

***CONCERT ETIQUETTE***

In order to give due respect to the students who have worked diligently to present this program, we request the following courtesies during the concert:
1. Do not enter or leave the Auditorium while a performance is in progress. The exception might be to remove a crying baby.
2. Refrain from talking during performances.
3. Do not take flash photographs during a performance.
4. It is proper etiquette to hold your applause between movements of a multi-movement work, such as a suite, a mass, a concerto or a symphony.
5. Video cameras should be limited to the back of the Auditorium in order not to block others' view of the performance area.
6. Please turn off all cell phones and pagers during the performance.
